Schecter Guitars
Schecter Guitar Research produces a vast line of guitars
to meet any musician's needs. From custom artist guitars like the radical
"Cloud" and "Symbol" guitars custom built for Prince, to the classic
Schecter "Traditional" and "Traditional PT" which Guitar Player said, "has a
warm, resonant acoustic voice... very woody sounding with excellent warmth,
depth and fatness, (and) its uncommonly fast neck feels brawny but plays
sleekly in all positions."
Earthshaking Music is proud to offer the best prices on Schecter Guitars
along with our friendly customer service that only a family run business can
offer.
Schecter began life as an upscale guitar replacement part
company in 1974. Founded by four equal partners who decided Dave Schecter’s
name was “the best-sounding,” the company soon offered custom guitar kits.
In 1977, one of these custom kits was heard on the debut album of Dire
Straits in the hands of guitar legend Mark Knopfler.
The Who’s Pete Townshend also had a guitar made of
Schecter parts, and these two monster players did much to open the world to
Schecter products.
Growing in popularity had a price. The company was bought
out and moved to Dallas in the 1980s, precipitating its nadir. A company
that makes 50 or 100 guitars a month that suddenly gets orders for 500 a
month … well, the quality is going to go down the toilet.
