Low and behind…it sounds horrible!  And what’s even worse than it sounding bad is that I can’t fix it.

Guitar tuning equipment is, for the most part, pretty cheap.  You can get your standard digital guitar tuner for under $40. 

Here are some of my recommendations and findings.  Generally, there are some things that you should be looking for in your guitar tuning equipment.

• LCD Meters are great and all, but go with LED or Digital style for displaying accuracy.

• Thin, light, and convenient is key to have for when you onstage or at home to just pull it out tune real quick before a performance.

• A built in MIC is pretty standard is you should definitely have it.

Guitar Tuning Equipment Recommendations:

Qwiktune guitar tuner has all the essentials.  It has a built in MIC for convenience. 

The "electric pitchpipe" is a cool feature.  It plays the note for you or you can tune each individual string.

Very large buttons and easy display for all you guitarists out there.

Korg guitar tuners are a great line of tuners and are the best selling-tuners for GA series.

Some highlights include:

• Quinta Flat Tuning mode let you tune 1-5 semitones flat

• Plays reference pitches from its internal speaker for tuning by ear

• Auto Power Off after 20 minutes of none use

I really like this guitar tuner.  It has a lot of great features.  Not to flashy...but definitely gets the job done well!

The Sabine STX1100 Guitar Tuner has been the best-selling chromatic tuner in the USA since 1991 based on the TOP TEN AWARD by Music and Sound Retailer.

That being said...you really can't go wrong with this tuner.  Here are some highlights:

• Has phone jack on each side for guitar and amplifier so you can play your guitar and tune at the same time

• Built-in MIC allows you to tune acoustic instruments

• Has 2 stainless steel clips for you to easily clip onto a music stand or whatever or where ever!

There are so many styles and brands out there you really go to find out what kind of guitar tuning equipment you really like. 

Whether it be a digital, meter or chromatic LCD or LED, pick a guitar tuner that fits you and is going to be easily accessible to you when your on the road.
